The Provasoli-Guillard National Center for Marine Algae and Microbiota (NCMA) is planning to offer the  5th U.S. training course on the identification of harmful algae in the U.S. marine waters.  The course will be held from August 19-29, 2020 (travel days should be August 18 and August 30) at the Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences Research and Education campus in East Boothbay, ME.  The course is designed for current local, state and federal government employees and academics involved in all aspects of harmful algal bloom (HAB) monitoring, research, and management.  Note that the application deadline for this course has been extended to May 30.  The course organizers and monitoring the COVID-19 situation, and will update and contact all accepted participants with a final decision about any changes that may be required.   Additional information and application instructions can be found HERE.
